It's Okay To Not Be Okay

The beautiful truth is that we are all a little broken, and that's okay. It's okay to not be okay. We all struggle in our own ways. Some days are good, and others are bad but it is important to remember that you WILL get through it. It's okay to cry, it's okay to break down and feel like everything around you is falling apart. But just know that it will get better, eventually. Life will go on, and this dead end will lead you to where you're supposed to be. We should all be allowed to fall apart sometimes, so that we can find ourselves all over again. Not being strong all of the time will make you, not break you. We all know that it's impossible to constantly stay positive, but you should try your best. One piece of advice that I have is to always be there for anyone that needs it. It breaks my heart to see someone going through something alone. Be there for the people you care about, and don't be scared to talk to others about your problems. We should all...

Every End is a New Beginning

"Every story has an end, but in life every end is a new beginning." I think it is important to remember that when one door closes, another one opens. Whether it is a job, relationship, friendship, or opportunities in general, it is hard when change occurs. Often we dwell on the negative, and can't see the new opportunity that has been given to us. I know personally that I don't take change well, I like when my life is consistent and has order. But, I am learning that if my life always stays the same, then there is no room for improvement.  Heartbreak is one of the hardest things a person will go through. It will make you think that you're going to be alone forever. When you're used to being with someone for so long, it is hard to let go of that. These things in life are going to be hard, and there will be bumps in the road. A lot of the times we think that those bumps are going to go on forever, but that is not true. In 10 or 20 years we will look back o...

Farewell to my Favorite Class

This week is a bittersweet week for me. It is the last week of my social media class, and this class has taught me a lot about things that I thought I already knew. I figured that I was going to be an expert in social media since I use it everyday, but I was wrong about that. My favorite part of this class was starting a blog. I had never thought about blogging before, until I was forced to create an account and start writing for my social media class. I was never a huge fan of writing, so I figured I would hate it. I actually love it, it turns out that there is something exciting about writing things you're passionate about. If this class didn't force me to start a blog, then I do not think I would have ever started one. This blog is going to be something I continue after this class is over, and I am excited to see where it takes me.       Another important thing that this class taught me was how to use social media for professional use, and not only personal use. I...

My Love/Hate Relationship with College

As a full time college student, I know that it is hard to get motivated. Doing homework, showing up for class, or even studying for an exam may be difficult for most students to do. Because we are in our twenties it's hard not to want to focus more on our social life, than our classes. A frat party sounds like a better time than pulling an all-nighter the night before an exam.        I am not going to sit here and tell you getting motivated is easy, because it's not. College is one of the hardest things you will go through in life, and we all have times that make us want to give up or dropout. Although we may say that we want to dropout, we know it's just not an option... for me at least. I know that getting through college and having my bachelor's degree, will be one of the most rewarding moments in my life. A college degree opens up so many opportunities in the professional field, that some people don't have the option of having.   ...

Podcast Trial

Good Afternoon readers, today I am going to be doing something a little different! I will be starting a podcast, so today I am going to test it out. I am excited to start a podcast because I notice it has become more popular. When I first thought about a podcast, I was like "Oh no, I can't do that, I hate my voice!" I quickly got over that fear, and now I am just excited. This first podcast is just testing it out, and making sure everything works. My next podcast will talk about my life as a full time college student, how I plan to motivate others, and my future plans. I can't wait to get started! Here is my test run..  https://soundcloud.com/jenna-ehrhardt/prodcast-test .

Building Professional Profiles

I have recently been trying to convert my social media pages to professional ones. I started with my LinkedIn profile. This profile was easy to make professional because I hadn't started it yet. To build my profile, I started filling in my professional information. I started with putting in where I attend college, and the major I am pursuing. Doing this allows me to connect with others who went to my school, or those who are in the same major as me. Then, I stated my professional skills and wrote a bio of myself. Professional people will benefit from LinkedIn because it will allow them to build their network and find jobs.       The next thing I did to be more professional was change the mood of my Twitter account. I used to only use my Twitter account for personal use, but now I want to use it to inspire and motivate people. Now I use Twitter to write and share inspirational words. A lot of people use Twitter for negative thoughts, but I honestly th...

A Vlog that Inspires Me

Hey everybody, today is such a beautiful day in Northern Illinois, so I think it is the perfect time for a little motivation. Being my age (20) is a very confusing time in a lot of people's lives. It is a time when you don't know if you're still a kid, or if you should be taking on adult responsibilities. People my age don't know whether they should be planning their future, or savoring their teen years. I found this video great because my goal is to motivate the people around me, and I think this video did a great job at doing that. I was even able to realize some things from this video that I did not think of before. It is important for people my age to set goals and be focused on achieving those goals. College may or may not be apart of a twenty-year olds life, but when I find myself not wanting to do homework I just think about the big picture, which is graduation. Although we may still be young and wanting to have fun, it is important to take time to oursel...

Inspirational Blogs for a New Blogger

Happy Sunday readers! What a perfect day to sit outside in the sun, and write a blog post. Today I am going to talk about blog posts that have been helpful to me as a new blogger. I think it's important for bloggers to read other blogs because that is the best way to learn how to become a better writer. I enjoy finding new blogs to read because it is more inspiration to me as a writer. The five blog posts I chose were  Self Discovery ,  The Creator ,  Breaking to a New Light ,  Now Living , and  Food-Travel-Fashion .       Each of these blogs have something in common. Each of these blogs talks about motivation and being successful. Self Discovery is a blog about refining life, and realizing that you want to live it to the fullest. This blog was an inspiration to me, because in my life I am pushing myself as hard as I can to achieve my goals. At sometime in this last year of my life, I have changed my attitude and I strive t...

Where I came from & Where I'm going

When thinking of myself, I think of someone who is driven to have a successful life. Hi, my name is Jenna and I am excited to be a first time blogger. I am a 20-year-old college student pursuing a bachelors degree in Marketing and a masters degree in Business Administration. I come from a family of four that consists of my mom, dad, and younger sister. I was born and raised in northern Illinois. Growing up I had a passion of competitive cheerleading, and that was all my life consisted of. I would eat, sleep, breathe cheerleading and everything about it. I went from being passionate about my cheerleading, to being passionate about having a successful future. College was never a question in my eyes. My parents always told me that I was going to college, so that was always my plan.       When I started my college experience I started at the University of Missouri (Mizzou). At Mizzou I was able to experience what college was all a...
